Passing of CMSgt (ret) Arlan “Woody” Swartwood, LC-211

It is with heavy heart and tears, we must share on November 4, 2021 Arlan took his last earthly journey to be with our Lord, family and friends who preceded him in death.  He was born in Burlington, Washington on March 19, 1935 to David Swartwood and Mary (Koehler).

Woody and Anne Swartwood were married on July 13, 1957 in San Diego.  He made a home for her and their five children on three continents as they pursued military and civilian careers.  They lived in or visited 104 countries and each of the seven continents and finally settled in Shalimar, Florida.

Arlan is survived by five daughters, Pamela Gravelle, Barbara Swartwood, Lisa Swartwood, Laura Taylor and Heidi Murphy; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Erna. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; and his wife Annette, just two years ago right after the 2019 EOD MasterBlaster Reunion.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 beginning at 2:00, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida 32547.

Arlan will be laid to rest November 15, 2021 at 2:30 P.M., Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.

We have reached out to the family for an address where Condolence cards may be sent.  As soon as we have it, we will share.  Please Condolence cards to:
